Roots was founded in June 2014 after a need was identified that smaller FMCG companies wanted to penetrate the rural market in SA but did not necessarily have the budgets that large multinationals have.
We started Roots with the dream to not only grow our people but grow and establish brands in our Townships that was labelled to be too expensive for our townships and never available.
We succeeded in this dream and keep expanding our brands, our people and our reach in the main market every day.
We are a level 2 BEE company and constantly endeavour to improve our communities.

We audit every outlet at least once a month on availability, pricing, activation and merchandising. We do this with photograph verification backed by a robust reporting system that gives us real time reports on all aspects of our business.
